<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FH7rKBRRSwI/XSznPE-DApI/AAAAAAAAE-c/3_1pM4GhwuISiOYY1LnYfgs6CmEKsBtkQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190715_183807.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FH7rKBRRSwI/XSznPE-DApI/AAAAAAAAE-c/3_1pM4GhwuISiOYY1LnYfgs6CmEKsBtkQCEwYBhgL/s320/20190715_183807.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
<br />
I have been looking for a easy method to paint marble effect as it is pretty cool material in terrain.<br />
Additionally, I have been stacking up on vitamin tubes until I would find such an method. The day has now come, and I think I found good, fast method to produce marble in tabletop quality.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r5BMC_DJtyQ/XSznQnHidvI/AAAAAAAAE-s/Pljs09tLqY8i75CkywZMnoGfPOR_5poIACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190715_232921.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r5BMC_DJtyQ/XSznQnHidvI/AAAAAAAAE-s/Pljs09tLqY8i75CkywZMnoGfPOR_5poIACEwYBhgL/s320/20190715_232921.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
The actual column is a vitamin container, similar seem to exist in every country.<br />
On the plus side, you get shitloads of vitamins while collecting these.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iVDXvyYRG4w/XSznHMVyorI/AAAAAAAAE-E/rGjf90BB4SMWibyFV2GW6EG9n1JpmTKZACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190714_110051.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iVDXvyYRG4w/XSznHMVyorI/AAAAAAAAE-E/rGjf90BB4SMWibyFV2GW6EG9n1JpmTKZACEwYBhgL/s320/20190714_110051.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
Obviously, the work begins with basecoat, white in this case.<br />
I also constructed a stick that holds the container while I paint it further, and allows me to rotate it on the spot.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fzZy_ZeVen8/XSznHKvnmzI/AAAAAAAAE-A/8dVAaGwUAHcoy075j2YEsTfcp2ZzJwA4QCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190714_110101.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fzZy_ZeVen8/XSznHKvnmzI/AAAAAAAAE-A/8dVAaGwUAHcoy075j2YEsTfcp2ZzJwA4QCEwYBhgL/s320/20190714_110101.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
The magic is in masking airbrush with unevenly torn paper, the colour I use is beasty brown from army painter. Other colours could be colder blue-greys and such.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pmWRNx08Ouw/XSznHJDx3HI/AAAAAAAAE94/N31_qUFbLMkBlF7P-o25YdDKY52zvGROACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190714_113900.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pmWRNx08Ouw/XSznHJDx3HI/AAAAAAAAE94/N31_qUFbLMkBlF7P-o25YdDKY52zvGROACEwYBhgL/s320/20190714_113900.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
Just place the paper close to the surface, and spray carefully, varyind the nozzle distance and pressure to make the patterns more organic.<br />
I did not vary paper distance as I wanted the edge of the pattern to be clear and hard.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uqlXpkDDwvU/XSznOXOd7WI/AAAAAAAAE-o/yh8yaRcdfI0jrIU3548ucwZ3-rWNwaNNQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190714_113926.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="758" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uqlXpkDDwvU/XSznOXOd7WI/AAAAAAAAE-o/yh8yaRcdfI0jrIU3548ucwZ3-rWNwaNNQCEwYBhgL/s320/20190714_113926.jpg" width="151" /></a></div>
Obviously splitting seams are done by starting another seam.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nCkE-o37TB8/XSznO3CftGI/AAAAAAAAE-s/dEJwS-jlLto6Us930TVcZ2oVfTd0G_VqACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190714_123634.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="758" data-original-width="1600" height="151" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nCkE-o37TB8/XSznO3CftGI/AAAAAAAAE-s/dEJwS-jlLto6Us930TVcZ2oVfTd0G_VqACEwYBhgL/s320/20190714_123634.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After I did all these (about an hour), I went through them with the same colour and did few touches here and there without the mask to liven them up a bit.<br />
Then I used Vallejo's sepia shade heavily dilluted to wash them and tie the effect together, it took the edge and harshness away from the pattern.<br />
Lastly, gloss spray to make it more marble like.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QXxRE-bWTdM/XLI6PH0NpEI/AAAAAAAAE3E/5ywS5tm6-dULSKdnTnJX3zaBtsNHrdSvQCLcBGAs/s1600/33BA6A4C-54EF-42B9-9A96-4A5B9CB27B97.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QXxRE-bWTdM/XLI6PH0NpEI/AAAAAAAAE3E/5ywS5tm6-dULSKdnTnJX3zaBtsNHrdSvQCLcBGAs/s320/33BA6A4C-54EF-42B9-9A96-4A5B9CB27B97.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here’s my lvl 2 Wood elf ranger and his first 2 spells, Hunter’s Mark and Hail of Thorns.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A4bl1GFxRLw/XLI6PR7wwcI/AAAAAAAAE3I/L6qOOAdJhqQkUiY9Js9hZoYHQkDe7gFuwCLcBGAs/s1600/8CE7C83B-A7D7-4C4A-99FD-3B43B2B19AB5.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A4bl1GFxRLw/XLI6PR7wwcI/AAAAAAAAE3I/L6qOOAdJhqQkUiY9Js9hZoYHQkDe7gFuwCLcBGAs/s320/8CE7C83B-A7D7-4C4A-99FD-3B43B2B19AB5.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
The figure is reaper’s metal. I had this idea of camo cloack that is practically moss with leaves and roots. I painted it brown and put on some maidenhair I have collected, and slapped Nochs’ flock along with few leaves.<br />
Oh yea, the skull in top of his head is GW, and I replaced his bowhand with GW glade guard hand as the bow was better than the original<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tI29RahgB6s/XLI6Oxy5LNI/AAAAAAAAE3M/GeJx_h77R50NUJkV97xBjTEaHHtQXPRDwCEwYBhgL/s1600/D39F6EF2-E330-4354-A601-4974F1C1ED9C.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tI29RahgB6s/XLI6Oxy5LNI/AAAAAAAAE3M/GeJx_h77R50NUJkV97xBjTEaHHtQXPRDwCEwYBhgL/s320/D39F6EF2-E330-4354-A601-4974F1C1ED9C.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
Spell effects are done with metal wire, superglue and maidenhair. I’m not sure if I like the Hail of Thorns, but I can’t think of anything better.<br />

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0WDGg7M8Nio/XKGjUqrbNEI/AAAAAAAAE1M/5hjv3VanPpMBRs-jS5-ZA7ufJU_33btrgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190224_191743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0WDGg7M8Nio/XKGjUqrbNEI/AAAAAAAAE1M/5hjv3VanPpMBRs-jS5-ZA7ufJU_33btrgCLcBGAs/s320/20190224_191743.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
So, here's the rest of the houses, and hairspray weathering for the wooden parts.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VIUYtGZSkjY/XKGjS78nAvI/AAAAAAAAE1E/7dRUg0nrRkYmpphvp2tTQH1ZuARApfChwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190225_095607.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VIUYtGZSkjY/XKGjS78nAvI/AAAAAAAAE1E/7dRUg0nrRkYmpphvp2tTQH1ZuARApfChwCLcBGAs/s320/20190225_095607.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I begin by basing the houses grey, and applying generous amount of Vallejo's sepia shade. It comes in a large container and has that perfect tint for the job.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nv7levCH36s/XKGjUkvr8cI/AAAAAAAAE1I/TtOSriAkISAVQf-AqrGYQt075OYVr5G9ACLcBGAs/s1600/20190225_095612.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nv7levCH36s/XKGjUkvr8cI/AAAAAAAAE1I/TtOSriAkISAVQf-AqrGYQt075OYVr5G9ACLcBGAs/s320/20190225_095612.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This goes to all buildings regardless of the end colour. I tilted them like this to make the wash flow into right crevises to mimic shadows.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rI6il1pAsHA/XKGjV1jGeUI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/87pqhyPf4iAtEvp354nvi45a3eeVSP0tgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190226_094906.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rI6il1pAsHA/XKGjV1jGeUI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/87pqhyPf4iAtEvp354nvi45a3eeVSP0tgCLcBGAs/s320/20190226_094906.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After that a small grey drybrush to accentuate the wood grain and make the thing look dry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Owc-gsCBUBQ/XKGjZjP24NI/AAAAAAAAE1Y/fO6yWKF5v_4JMorL_t1tZKO7c5fy8o3lgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190226_101620.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Owc-gsCBUBQ/XKGjZjP24NI/AAAAAAAAE1Y/fO6yWKF5v_4JMorL_t1tZKO7c5fy8o3lgCLcBGAs/s320/20190226_101620.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After that, I airspray baby poop and army painter strong tone to make mold and light variations.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B-PAXCvJifk/XKGjYskLNPI/AAAAAAAAE1U/9mK6_oNvXL8XnQBlwXEfmbbl-4seSGzJACLcBGAs/s1600/20190302_111839.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-B-PAXCvJifk/XKGjYskLNPI/AAAAAAAAE1U/9mK6_oNvXL8XnQBlwXEfmbbl-4seSGzJACLcBGAs/s320/20190302_111839.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After that I sprayed wellaflex hairspray generously to the surface and let dry until not wet anymore, about 10 minutes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9eHvJEN2S0E/XKGjaYoPZPI/AAAAAAAAE1c/qiPoABmjtrQfXw4FWtlkDTHkpRQFYnYIwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190302_114146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9eHvJEN2S0E/XKGjaYoPZPI/AAAAAAAAE1c/qiPoABmjtrQfXw4FWtlkDTHkpRQFYnYIwCLcBGAs/s320/20190302_114146.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I then apply paint with a light hand to leave some parts unpainted.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iUFIlPXOed8/XKGjczubogI/AAAAAAAAE1g/AWS7lQeiz9cpTV4riGqwdVm-20E0qIWfQCLcBGAs/s1600/20190302_114150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iUFIlPXOed8/XKGjczubogI/AAAAAAAAE1g/AWS7lQeiz9cpTV4riGqwdVm-20E0qIWfQCLcBGAs/s320/20190302_114150.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
This alone looks pretty ok.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gsE7pXgXS0c/XKGjdVg1HaI/AAAAAAAAE1k/2T2VHRn38a4kakIYwDsn4Y7By_7LwGM0wCLcBGAs/s1600/20190302_114428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gsE7pXgXS0c/XKGjdVg1HaI/AAAAAAAAE1k/2T2VHRn38a4kakIYwDsn4Y7By_7LwGM0wCLcBGAs/s320/20190302_114428.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I then dab a little water to the point I want to remove, and LIGHTLY brush it. This loosens the hairspray and the paint with it, but lets the underlying wood shine through as if it was worn out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pvpSujiuYx4/XKGjeeSFVAI/AAAAAAAAE1o/xnjxoGOt9kkQ_8wgy0Ws-Lf_iV7m6n40ACLcBGAs/s1600/20190302_114648.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pvpSujiuYx4/XKGjeeSFVAI/AAAAAAAAE1o/xnjxoGOt9kkQ_8wgy0Ws-Lf_iV7m6n40ACLcBGAs/s320/20190302_114648.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Same thing here. The process easily removes base wood colour as well, so it might be a good idea to seal it with varnish next time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YdhQmTwLDbA/XKGjgvepczI/AAAAAAAAE1s/D4MOJq8QtagC0FKfOr_dO71R1pj9TSl7gCLcBGAs/s1600/20190312_212645.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YdhQmTwLDbA/XKGjgvepczI/AAAAAAAAE1s/D4MOJq8QtagC0FKfOr_dO71R1pj9TSl7gCLcBGAs/s320/20190312_212645.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I did 2 houses with paint, one with paint and red wash to mimic the colour of an old wooden houses here in Finland. Lastly I just left one house without paintjob altogether.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U0rlJRWNEVw/XKGjhl4aUII/AAAAAAAAE1w/aSLJkFHyVGsRibbjpjKVmaEaUNCbhH_EgCLcBGAs/s1600/20190312_212713.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U0rlJRWNEVw/XKGjhl4aUII/AAAAAAAAE1w/aSLJkFHyVGsRibbjpjKVmaEaUNCbhH_EgCLcBGAs/s320/20190312_212713.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I like the end result + it was fast.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DkH9a-3bDok/XKGjieZUGDI/AAAAAAAAE10/cqSKSl5hPHIJYm86IPMgHdaEc9tpPjOUwCLcBGAs/s1600/20190312_212720.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DkH9a-3bDok/XKGjieZUGDI/AAAAAAAAE10/cqSKSl5hPHIJYm86IPMgHdaEc9tpPjOUwCLcBGAs/s320/20190312_212720.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I did a fast colourshift to the windows.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

For sometime now, I've been coveting for GW's Laketown Houses for no particular reason but that they are very beautiful, and looked like well suited for modding.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-69xeXoqOuO8/XHJYFH0lUqI/AAAAAAAAEzs/lccYQ4ilwU4CAVM29SZYp_XXCmTUiFdNACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103447.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-69xeXoqOuO8/XHJYFH0lUqI/AAAAAAAAEzs/lccYQ4ilwU4CAVM29SZYp_XXCmTUiFdNACEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103447.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I went ahead and ordered six sets. They are packed with personality, and like I hoped for, are also very adaptable.<br />
They are not overly fantasy themed, so I'd say they fit even real scenarios if need be.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dkGOiC5BpO8/XHJYJw5LkmI/AAAAAAAAEzw/Nm8J5kePMIMVpRyd7OGFLaYrkF1FZtyvwCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103453.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dkGOiC5BpO8/XHJYJw5LkmI/AAAAAAAAEzw/Nm8J5kePMIMVpRyd7OGFLaYrkF1FZtyvwCEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103453.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
My main point with them (after the assembly) was to find out a painting scheme that would look good and be fast at the same time.<br />
I tried few things with the small outhouses that come with the set, and finally settled in to two different approaches that in my opinion look pretty good.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y24AK8TaetE/XHJYKVQZC7I/AAAAAAAAEz0/pD3MTnxlHeI5NWxUzhzqWjhClMkPUdgOwCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103458.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-y24AK8TaetE/XHJYKVQZC7I/AAAAAAAAEz0/pD3MTnxlHeI5NWxUzhzqWjhClMkPUdgOwCEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103458.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The other is more or less wash + drybrush, but I kind of like more the one involving airbrush, hairspray and washing.<br />
This first house was a result of that.<br />
I'm going to do a post when I get the bulk painting going on how to do this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0wNxCv1_dy4/XHJYKr_cJKI/AAAAAAAAEz4/Vwucg90PIKcTnkSrdT6ZRJZye41fE-ydQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103505.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0wNxCv1_dy4/XHJYKr_cJKI/AAAAAAAAEz4/Vwucg90PIKcTnkSrdT6ZRJZye41fE-ydQCEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103505.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The houses have a interior, which I left open to accommodate possible future detailing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9MOa_qQ3HHc/XHJYMANAxiI/AAAAAAAAEz4/YXKVUW17XQ8jexnQHK7HC1Crnx2NDoWkACEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103549.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9MOa_qQ3HHc/XHJYMANAxiI/AAAAAAAAEz4/YXKVUW17XQ8jexnQHK7HC1Crnx2NDoWkACEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103549.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And here are three other houses based grey, waiting for the paintjob.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-leyoK_oBW04/XHJbP-21qRI/AAAAAAAAE0A/e2EVTK1cKaY4H25DomZjJAcF8C-d87cMACLcBGAs/s1600/20190224_104025.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-leyoK_oBW04/XHJbP-21qRI/AAAAAAAAE0A/e2EVTK1cKaY4H25DomZjJAcF8C-d87cMACLcBGAs/s320/20190224_104025.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Like I mentioned, one reason I got these was the good adaptability. Combining two houses gave me a nice village tavern with two integrated privy's and a balcony at the back.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Kwq5ka7MsM/XHJYFEyczEI/AAAAAAAAEzo/HFB37hIOUx8yBlZn2FUZb-KldMUdeFVvQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20190224_103421.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="900" data-original-width="1600" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Kwq5ka7MsM/XHJYFEyczEI/AAAAAAAAEzo/HFB37hIOUx8yBlZn2FUZb-KldMUdeFVvQCEwYBhgL/s320/20190224_103421.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

I found out that I had forgotten to paint all of my <a href="http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/" target="_blank">Statuesque </a>miniatures' lunatics. I still had 3 women that required attention.<br />
After painting this, and again realizing how fantastic these are, I thought I really should order more. As the heads are swappable, I could squeeze in few more unique miniatures still.<br />

I really really just love the wary expression she has. The base got in addition of normal blood from Tamiya, also slime from GW, Nurgle something.<br />
Also, I still had the mechanicum transfers that the males had to mark the ward she is in.<br />

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zTaHK3XEoM/XBfhunstPGI/AAAAAAAAEt8/gv1791u-EDEzFF3KhFOjtw-HJFt6vmJcwCLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_190952.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0zTaHK3XEoM/XBfhunstPGI/AAAAAAAAEt8/gv1791u-EDEzFF3KhFOjtw-HJFt6vmJcwCLcBGAs/s320/20181216_190952.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Cruel Seas has a mechanic that requires tracking how many times a ship has been shot with sufficiently large weapon.<br />
Cool way to keep track, and not fill the table with immersion breaking counters, is to use water plumes.<br />
<a name='more'></a>Materials needed are:<br />
-Coarse turf (or something similar loose landscaping material).<br />
-Greenstuff<br />
-Metal wire<br />
-PVA & Superglue<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fj4-xO0O5E8/XBfhur-xdiI/AAAAAAAAEuA/5O7rZHzxSKUSlSM24xqMnSNWhlSisVxswCLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_191415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Fj4-xO0O5E8/XBfhur-xdiI/AAAAAAAAEuA/5O7rZHzxSKUSlSM24xqMnSNWhlSisVxswCLcBGAs/s320/20181216_191415.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Start off by making coarse armature of the plume with Greenstuff and superglue a metal wire into it.<br />
While GS is still sticky, press some turf to the armature for easier coverage for future layer(s).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kdQ0pyoxp2s/XBfhtwK5tmI/AAAAAAAAEt4/kmccVoF-beYRNi0AR1hY8PojjS-7nc0SwCLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_192334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kdQ0pyoxp2s/XBfhtwK5tmI/AAAAAAAAEt4/kmccVoF-beYRNi0AR1hY8PojjS-7nc0SwCLcBGAs/s320/20181216_192334.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Simple plumes have only one wire in them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GCeyOqOh14Q/XBfhvuA2jkI/AAAAAAAAEuE/YyWEMJlm7FkwngeVHncQNc9DqjfHWxGCgCLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_192808.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GCeyOqOh14Q/XBfhvuA2jkI/AAAAAAAAEuE/YyWEMJlm7FkwngeVHncQNc9DqjfHWxGCgCLcBGAs/s320/20181216_192808.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
If you do explosions or multi-pronged plumes, just stick more wires in.<br />
Try to keep plumes as fluffy as possible, they'll be smoothed in the next step.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--Yb8CIZR1rE/XBfhwjuMQzI/AAAAAAAAEuI/TNnFB7a2xyMo9Iffvt-8sAUc-iOD3ND1ACLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_193128.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/--Yb8CIZR1rE/XBfhwjuMQzI/AAAAAAAAEuI/TNnFB7a2xyMo9Iffvt-8sAUc-iOD3ND1ACLcBGAs/s320/20181216_193128.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then, mix PVA with water, I use Hob-e-Tact, but regular is just fine.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-glNbQ4kuvMc/XBfhx9XDnnI/AAAAAAAAEuM/HFoPEGy36dIV0AaxxB4b1gWsMkgRgTf6ACLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_193550.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-glNbQ4kuvMc/XBfhx9XDnnI/AAAAAAAAEuM/HFoPEGy36dIV0AaxxB4b1gWsMkgRgTf6ACLcBGAs/s320/20181216_193550.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
With the mixture, wet everything carefully. Do not rub or overdo this as it will get turf loose.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DsHrPpmss2U/XBfhyszKJhI/AAAAAAAAEuU/jp6TnQ85ruEyPkqLTzdXsBseHGAkd0D8gCLcBGAs/s1600/20181216_194007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DsHrPpmss2U/XBfhyszKJhI/AAAAAAAAEuU/jp6TnQ85ruEyPkqLTzdXsBseHGAkd0D8gCLcBGAs/s320/20181216_194007.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Either wait for them to dry or not :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FpdHa9RQqWs/XBfhxy2JbNI/AAAAAAAAEu8/tlVI0Rv6Jlo2KQ9Hko0-M9YgO_t9_1fTQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20181216_193814.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FpdHa9RQqWs/XBfhxy2JbNI/AAAAAAAAEu8/tlVI0Rv6Jlo2KQ9Hko0-M9YgO_t9_1fTQCEwYBhgL/s320/20181216_193814.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Once plumes are dried, it is time for fine tuning and hardening.<br />
Make similar PVA slush as before, and mix it with your turf.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cv_bkmU7dKo/XBfh0I-P3qI/AAAAAAAAEvA/Uj896yqqF4gKtwkEetpheNhIlnXShRQJACEwYBhgL/s1600/20181216_201910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cv_bkmU7dKo/XBfh0I-P3qI/AAAAAAAAEvA/Uj896yqqF4gKtwkEetpheNhIlnXShRQJACEwYBhgL/s320/20181216_201910.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Then drip small amount of superglue to the dried plume and let it spread until you have covered the whole plume.<br />
This will harden the surface and make it durable + easier to paint.<br />
If you have holes, or you want to lengthen the prongs, just dabble the turf+PVA mixture from previous step on top of the still wet superglue where needed.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GThPaD7PzA0/XBfh0yViHZI/AAAAAAAAEvM/RvJAk5VTvyEnSNnRXgco24U12FxPQNPKgCEwYBhgL/s1600/20181217_100109.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GThPaD7PzA0/XBfh0yViHZI/AAAAAAAAEvM/RvJAk5VTvyEnSNnRXgco24U12FxPQNPKgCEwYBhgL/s320/20181217_100109.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
As this is a proof of concept, I thought to try"basing" the plumes for sturdier standing.<br />
i user superglue and pieces of plastic cut to form.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gVGbCUSlHj8/XBfh1psx1EI/AAAAAAAAEvI/BF6uQyp2RoQ5RLwL0qwnQmRj5Mb6YKsbQCEwYBhgL/s1600/20181217_100431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gVGbCUSlHj8/XBfh1psx1EI/AAAAAAAAEvI/BF6uQyp2RoQ5RLwL0qwnQmRj5Mb6YKsbQCEwYBhgL/s320/20181217_100431.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
I used this this to fill the holes between the base and plume.<br />
I guess pva + fine sand would be better.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-etAw9l0z8rQ/XBfh3trR-cI/AAAAAAAAEvQ/W84kJgWJbJQ4g2ZWSRgU5-ZYwzMSD4uGwCEwYBhgL/s1600/20181217_190129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-etAw9l0z8rQ/XBfh3trR-cI/AAAAAAAAEvQ/W84kJgWJbJQ4g2ZWSRgU5-ZYwzMSD4uGwCEwYBhgL/s320/20181217_190129.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
After everything is dried, basecoat white, and paint. I used my trusty receipt for white: Blue Grey Pale -> Pale Greyblue -> white.<br />
Here they are in the first step.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ON4adGxL-0Y/XBfh4AOAqRI/AAAAAAAAEvQ/XbRRZB3CI7sTLbe6su3VI1j6JUtXojhLACEwYBhgL/s1600/20181217_192557.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ON4adGxL-0Y/XBfh4AOAqRI/AAAAAAAAEvQ/XbRRZB3CI7sTLbe6su3VI1j6JUtXojhLACEwYBhgL/s320/20181217_192557.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Ad voila', plumes. I cut 2 plumes I did in this example shorter after painting, as they towered small boats a bit too much. It looked like someone was shooting a bit too big cannons at them.<br />
<br />
Lastly, experiment with sizes and forms, and do not forget to make explosion sounds with your mouth during the whole process! :)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i5Rm74Se1bM/XBKXUoPnxTI/AAAAAAAAEtA/er-HLFSaXDM8BoJ4lGxBAoGVlnAr7czvQCLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_171334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i5Rm74Se1bM/XBKXUoPnxTI/AAAAAAAAEtA/er-HLFSaXDM8BoJ4lGxBAoGVlnAr7czvQCLcBGAs/s320/20181213_171334.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
After a year of silence here, I had to write as I took on a totally new challenge, both in scale and type. 1:300 coastal boat action.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>The game is warlord's <a href="https://store.warlordgames.com/collections/cruel-seas/" target="_blank">Cruel Seas</a>. As I am biased toward US forces always, I went ahead and ordered the <a href="https://store.warlordgames.com/collections/cruel-seas/products/us-navy-coastal-force" target="_blank">US Navy Coastal Force</a>, that seemed to offer all current US boats, extra miniature and rulebook.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9L6FzET0vd8/XBKXVFQrh2I/AAAAAAAAEtI/5lDN-tvQyXM-SBGHAUA0EvDVmnr9UpRYACLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_171348.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9L6FzET0vd8/XBKXVFQrh2I/AAAAAAAAEtI/5lDN-tvQyXM-SBGHAUA0EvDVmnr9UpRYACLcBGAs/s320/20181213_171348.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The official starter box is US NAvy Fleet, with few PT boats, really cool landing crafts, fighter and couple of larger boats.<br />
The Landing crafts alone sparked and idea of linked Bolt Action scenarios, who knows, maybe my rangers do get to see some action in future..<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n4OFJFP4nhY/XBKXVJ4764I/AAAAAAAAEtE/x38Aom6uwlwbHepXKttV8Lsk1mE-M9EoACLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_171352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n4OFJFP4nhY/XBKXVJ4764I/AAAAAAAAEtE/x38Aom6uwlwbHepXKttV8Lsk1mE-M9EoACLcBGAs/s320/20181213_171352.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Second box was more PT boats.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eHCDXLxO9SI/XBKXWC25MpI/AAAAAAAAEtM/yw0GrXr6KacP_BAmiYf9-_PHf5ayjvWrQCLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_171446.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eHCDXLxO9SI/XBKXWC25MpI/AAAAAAAAEtM/yw0GrXr6KacP_BAmiYf9-_PHf5ayjvWrQCLcBGAs/s320/20181213_171446.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The special miniature is aptly named "Das Boot".<br />
<br />
I can hear the melody already in my mind...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ltwCko0UawM/XBKXYmL7RqI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/3aY7bzNypKUJq1L2qqiJ1W_nTuNoGhvfACLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_172156.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ltwCko0UawM/XBKXYmL7RqI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/3aY7bzNypKUJq1L2qqiJ1W_nTuNoGhvfACLcBGAs/s320/20181213_172156.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
All in all, starter box has pretty nice selection of stuff, maybe the only complain are the uglier than in warlord gamepley video mist (?) markers for shooting. In videos they looked different, maybe some modding helps.<br />
Wake markers could look better too, maybe sculpt them somehow myself etc.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hcBu0nybBHg/XBKXYtgvREI/AAAAAAAAEtU/O2cyniMcMkwXjGYwQ6cvQxibsi3xi7HuwCLcBGAs/s1600/20181213_172204.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hcBu0nybBHg/XBKXYtgvREI/AAAAAAAAEtU/O2cyniMcMkwXjGYwQ6cvQxibsi3xi7HuwCLcBGAs/s320/20181213_172204.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Close up of the miniatures.<br />

And of the other stuff.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Here's first PT assembled. Here is the first real complaint of this box set.<br />
There is really no instructions how to assemble the models, and you have some different options at least for the 2 types of PT's. The biggest pain came with the mast position which I hope I got right. Not a major gripe, took 15 minutes of googling, but could have been easily avoided by Warlord by adding at least some instructions to the box.<br />
Also, there are some mold lines, but nothing a little sandpapering wouldn't fix.<br />
Next, Im going to paint this before assembling the other lot, I need to see how it looks.<br />
I guess highlighting and contrasting are the key.Gutrothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01278001913779285969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556043502247589365.post-18044630203539767332017-11-21T07:57:00.002+02:002017-11-21T07:57:50.211+02:00Guildball Farmers Guild all painted up<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5CkGJqZ8Heo/WhO9TKei0hI/AAAAAAAAEjE/lYPTOq5_-cEPnNTIdTX_fRb_Nn1d8cwPQCLcBGAs/s1600/20171120_111029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5CkGJqZ8Heo/WhO9TKei0hI/AAAAAAAAEjE/lYPTOq5_-cEPnNTIdTX_fRb_Nn1d8cwPQCLcBGAs/s320/20171120_111029.jpg" width="320" /></a>After a very long pause in any miniature gaming, I got interested in Guild ball due to escalation league arranged in our gaming club.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1lVEqbu9B7w/WhO9sv0wj3I/AAAAAAAAEjM/9we6jwZVwXgF84U1zMTY-NYRYdvNWxH0wCLcBGAs/s1600/20171120_111059.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1lVEqbu9B7w/WhO9sv0wj3I/AAAAAAAAEjM/9we6jwZVwXgF84U1zMTY-NYRYdvNWxH0wCLcBGAs/s320/20171120_111059.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I actually painted up Masons Guild first, but got interested in Farmers after that and got them too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sdkRmxnTRIU/WhO9s2s1EHI/AAAAAAAAEjQ/s0Iv1Xe-oh0M_LX1gjRSWGqPj39h3077ACLcBGAs/s1600/20171120_111116.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sdkRmxnTRIU/WhO9s2s1EHI/AAAAAAAAEjQ/s0Iv1Xe-oh0M_LX1gjRSWGqPj39h3077ACLcBGAs/s320/20171120_111116.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I decided to go with NMM all the way as I had painted Masons already, so there i no hurry. It still needs some practise, but it is passable tabletop quality now, so practising with real figures doesn't go to waste.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

In addition to the Farmer's box, I ordered Tresher as halloween special zombie.<br />
It really cannot be seen in these pictures, but Tamiya X-25 blood (mixed with a tad of black) is still the best paint to portrait blood.<br />

Next in line is Union's Grace (WIP)who can play for farmers as well.<br />
Metal armor is pretty prevalent here, and I'm not really sure if I got it right. Dunno if I have the energy to actually repaint it though.<br />

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o0MAaEMrULc/WQozIC2IWDI/AAAAAAAAEdg/pNQWmI5y9q0j42aC9rACMoIg8NZdTP2TwCLcB/s1600/20170503_223551.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o0MAaEMrULc/WQozIC2IWDI/AAAAAAAAEdg/pNQWmI5y9q0j42aC9rACMoIg8NZdTP2TwCLcB/s320/20170503_223551.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I have for some reason always wanted to try smaller scale miniatures.<br />
To accomodate this, I went with 3mm celts from <a href="https://www.magistermilitum.com/" target="_blank">Magister Militum</a>.<br />
The ultimate plan is to make a travel ready wargame set to play Hail Caesar, DBM or KoW. For that I need some romans too.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EOiAyNWysFE/WQozH2oJy9I/AAAAAAAAEd8/qK2bRP9hc7Q3aEsr8aELmFv4OT7ro4pOwCEw/s1600/20170503_223605.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EOiAyNWysFE/WQozH2oJy9I/AAAAAAAAEd8/qK2bRP9hc7Q3aEsr8aELmFv4OT7ro4pOwCEw/s320/20170503_223605.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have enough miniatures for a small army, chariots, horses, archers and infantry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8BXSdnV63LA/WQozKYY1fQI/AAAAAAAAEd8/Wo026pzMHQAh5h5khB3v4dhYFsLGM8QLwCEw/s1600/20170503_223624.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8BXSdnV63LA/WQozKYY1fQI/AAAAAAAAEd8/Wo026pzMHQAh5h5khB3v4dhYFsLGM8QLwCEw/s320/20170503_223624.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Obviously there are not many poses in this scale, but I think the mixed colours in this army will produce a nice effect.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I_Qz3D9uk1w/WQozJhFnncI/AAAAAAAAEd8/GCOc8bETZTIhMtDH7H-5puLEQm3Pg8fmQCEw/s1600/20170503_223610.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I_Qz3D9uk1w/WQozJhFnncI/AAAAAAAAEd8/GCOc8bETZTIhMtDH7H-5puLEQm3Pg8fmQCEw/s320/20170503_223610.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Infantry comes in 8 man wide strips, each strip is 2cm wide.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JCYXaKcDm-I/WQozKVkZpGI/AAAAAAAAEd8/7q4qwugppaUKi5sPBVGRFAxiTHljCTiGgCEw/s1600/20170503_223616.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JCYXaKcDm-I/WQozKVkZpGI/AAAAAAAAEd8/7q4qwugppaUKi5sPBVGRFAxiTHljCTiGgCEw/s320/20170503_223616.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
One thing I hate when looking small miniatures is when they are based too thick bases. It makes them look like they are standing on a cliff.<br />
The figures have too thick base, I need to find something to file them lower. I did that with a hand file for 3 infantry bases, but that is going to take too much time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l1bKSRuteLM/WQozLM1d_gI/AAAAAAAAEd8/7iAyIRGp0zECRdcZVyp4QiE-XXTD-RnQgCEw/s1600/20170503_223737.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l1bKSRuteLM/WQozLM1d_gI/AAAAAAAAEd8/7iAyIRGp0zECRdcZVyp4QiE-XXTD-RnQgCEw/s320/20170503_223737.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here are the first test painted models. These look pretty bad when unpainted, but not at all too shabby when finished.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0gH-o-U3GgI/WQozMMbBETI/AAAAAAAAEd8/Q-C81x8ZdzU5SxBRQb4bZ33LRKPI_UwTQCEw/s1600/20170503_223807.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0gH-o-U3GgI/WQozMMbBETI/AAAAAAAAEd8/Q-C81x8ZdzU5SxBRQb4bZ33LRKPI_UwTQCEw/s320/20170503_223807.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I'm not really sure if I am spending too much time with the details, but in the other hand, I'm in no hurry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6wAUbmUn-rc/WQozMOOj8jI/AAAAAAAAEd8/IALtv1TEVVQSffnfccbiJzLqmgR_-Xj2ACEw/s1600/20170503_223902.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6wAUbmUn-rc/WQozMOOj8jI/AAAAAAAAEd8/IALtv1TEVVQSffnfccbiJzLqmgR_-Xj2ACEw/s320/20170503_223902.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is one 28mm mini to give the sense of scale.<br />
I'm thinking of basing 5 strips into 2x2cm magnetic base. That way I can use them to some extent in various basing schemes, either as alone or two side by side as 4x2cm front.<br />
<br />
Although if someone has any suggestions of how to make as portable basing scheme as possible, I'm all ears?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I bought few miniatures to Pulp Alley (or other games) from <a href="http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/" target="_blank">statuesque miniatures</a>.<br />
First to get paint were inhabitants of a lunatic asylum and a Indian gentleman.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5YpgveXPdLQ/WQD2F-sWHaI/AAAAAAAAEdA/yQIoV8K7aPwDD1GhB89vVTXizJ-WBm9DgCEw/s1600/20170426_221429.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5YpgveXPdLQ/WQD2F-sWHaI/AAAAAAAAEdA/yQIoV8K7aPwDD1GhB89vVTXizJ-WBm9DgCEw/s320/20170426_221429.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have a doctor, nurse and 3 male patients. I still have 3 female patients to paint.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yPffE30BnyU/WQD2GNxGpdI/AAAAAAAAEdA/_KcdZKB5euYZpx3juu7CGpYvfj8Y4H5sgCEw/s1600/20170426_221505.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yPffE30BnyU/WQD2GNxGpdI/AAAAAAAAEdA/_KcdZKB5euYZpx3juu7CGpYvfj8Y4H5sgCEw/s320/20170426_221505.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Very nice and stylized sculpts.<br />

Slightly more sinister look.<br />

Nurse is probably not very innocent herself. The floor tiles were made with egg cutting tool (yes..).<br />

I also did few bushes that I have been meaning to for some time. It's plastic trunks with Nochs scatter glued on.<br />
The green grass is excess pieces that were left over from plastic trees that I'm painting and pimping up next.<br />

I felt I could make a whole posse to Pulp Alley, so I went for it.<br />
I had international adventurer, captain Stillwater and Lluana, amazon shaman from jungle planet Zyxx.<br />
And now Brother Malleus from Vatican's most secret order of Cestus Dei joins the team. Accompanying the brother with his mission of holy vengeance is a resurrected parishioner, Bob.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tTZ8TZo9FbU/WIZcIuBPuhI/AAAAAAAAEYo/qnJwP3w7c70vCYWA80tn49x4_sntJdhmQCLcB/s1600/20170123_213652.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tTZ8TZo9FbU/WIZcIuBPuhI/AAAAAAAAEYo/qnJwP3w7c70vCYWA80tn49x4_sntJdhmQCLcB/s320/20170123_213652.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Together these 2 will join Stillwater's team to combat the minions of evil and sometimes just generally suspicious persons. And Nazis.<br />

Again, I had no idea what the sculpt would be with the warrior priest, but I have always liked them and witch hunters in Warhammer lore. So he started to take the form pretty early.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E0FwDZdG1Ic/WIZcKbsGUSI/AAAAAAAAEY0/BididPRCgFwe3cuurgMoC5_HGvPH3HLngCLcB/s1600/20170123_213725.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E0FwDZdG1Ic/WIZcKbsGUSI/AAAAAAAAEY0/BididPRCgFwe3cuurgMoC5_HGvPH3HLngCLcB/s320/20170123_213725.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Zombie was more of a conscious sculpt as I went with deliberately hunched pose and crooked legs.<br />
I first thought that zombie would be a natural enemy to a holy man, but what if it is a resurrected servant (as opposed to necromantically risen corpse)? :)<br />
<br />
I'm thinking of doing a (alien) animal companion for Lluana next.Gutrothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01278001913779285969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556043502247589365.post-12254296999329087092017-01-19T20:52:00.000+02:002017-01-19T20:57:00.664+02:00Three new sculpts<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VxT8P9DN9jo/WIEF8OXCFoI/AAAAAAAAEXo/ap5o53lxPlgbUzZeFfXmT6FkT4kaw-31ACLcB/s1600/20170119_202636.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VxT8P9DN9jo/WIEF8OXCFoI/AAAAAAAAEXo/ap5o53lxPlgbUzZeFfXmT6FkT4kaw-31ACLcB/s320/20170119_202636.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have again gotten a small drive to sculpt, so here are the fruits of last couple of week .<br />
There is also a pretty clear path of advancement noticeable.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_2DL_SqRdrY/WIEF8bPGK-I/AAAAAAAAEYQ/wUvVo06gSqMNtYf2yRfopVRRhPH_Fz4IACEw/s1600/20170119_202700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_2DL_SqRdrY/WIEF8bPGK-I/AAAAAAAAEYQ/wUvVo06gSqMNtYf2yRfopVRRhPH_Fz4IACEw/s320/20170119_202700.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I thought to divert from the easy path of non-human sculpts, and went for something real.<br />
First off, U.S WW2 grenade tossing soldier.<br />
I thought to either add or sculpt a helmet, but in the end went for bare head, rifle is Warlord Games' as theirs are far superior to what I could have accomplished.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fxViHAslMIA/WIEGBCoXbaI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/XPoJs5VOI48K3BKKpTpxjz53yEKj8LiMACEw/s1600/20170119_202712.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fxViHAslMIA/WIEGBCoXbaI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/XPoJs5VOI48K3BKKpTpxjz53yEKj8LiMACEw/s320/20170119_202712.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The front hand needs a slight touch, and the pose is slightly awkward as with all of these, but in the midst of all other 28mm yankees I have, none will notice.<br />
I'm not really happy with this one, but was a good practice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gNQyjkjvxOI/WIEGBfuAKhI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/C4b0Dju1vQEMzTvPLBuy7yNDhuXjIdONACEw/s1600/20170119_202731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gNQyjkjvxOI/WIEGBfuAKhI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/C4b0Dju1vQEMzTvPLBuy7yNDhuXjIdONACEw/s320/20170119_202731.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Next up, shaman of the Amazons. After trying to do historical uniform, I went for another "hard" thing; female body.<br />
In the end she became maybe slightly too muscular, but looks pretty good.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I-v6rVBFGdA/WIEGMXaZ-1I/AAAAAAAAEYQ/TVMzKX-ITkQpk7jATZejXPrAuY7Gu6aBQCEw/s1600/20170119_202751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I-v6rVBFGdA/WIEGMXaZ-1I/AAAAAAAAEYQ/TVMzKX-ITkQpk7jATZejXPrAuY7Gu6aBQCEw/s320/20170119_202751.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I'm not sure about the ears, I need to basepaint to see if they are really so big, or if it is just the greenstuff looking like it. They are luckily easily replaced.<br />
With this pose I managed to get a sense of movement for the first time.<br />
EDIT: The ears are too big, they are now officially off.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7YRYgC-aoHk/WIEGBkBEQTI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/wf7rqUvHHkQivXWM99-N5qv_WelWSUUeQCEw/s1600/20170119_202740.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7YRYgC-aoHk/WIEGBkBEQTI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/wf7rqUvHHkQivXWM99-N5qv_WelWSUUeQCEw/s320/20170119_202740.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I'm pretty happy with the base as well, I was aiming for lost jungle temple type approach.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w3ikk5CZ6iI/WIEGQ7wDIlI/AAAAAAAAEYY/9kSA00BVXHoZLr6bT7pmxq1P29yNxB8tACEw/s1600/20170119_202812.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-w3ikk5CZ6iI/WIEGQ7wDIlI/AAAAAAAAEYY/9kSA00BVXHoZLr6bT7pmxq1P29yNxB8tACEw/s320/20170119_202812.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Lastly, Captain Stillwater.<br />
I bought finally Pulp Alley rules, and kind of realized I did not have any pulp figures, so I made one.<br />
I'm not sure about the left arm, but it is pretty okish. Nothing spectacular, but captain here somehow became the most solid figure of this bunch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DXWVpPP4Zac/WIEGMkAarpI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/E8hDPdiKk74KLgP7brLgcQe0KlpCBXF1gCEw/s1600/20170119_202822.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DXWVpPP4Zac/WIEGMkAarpI/AAAAAAAAEYQ/E8hDPdiKk74KLgP7brLgcQe0KlpCBXF1gCEw/s320/20170119_202822.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Also, if you disregard the left arm, he has some kind of pose. Hopefully the beard looks good when painted.<br />
EDIT: I need to look into my photo light, these look really bad with reflections, the surface is a lot smoother in RL.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KXekqVCkUBo/WIEGSuurwlI/AAAAAAAAEYY/ug0mA3WZn2Qg46G2ZWdBrRM6FI7YG3QXgCEw/s1600/20170119_202831.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KXekqVCkUBo/WIEGSuurwlI/AAAAAAAAEYY/ug0mA3WZn2Qg46G2ZWdBrRM6FI7YG3QXgCEw/s320/20170119_202831.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
And, making these one after another helped really with my technique and getting to know the clay.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QkIq2vJIhts/WHn34II--CI/AAAAAAAAEUs/nB92CTQ1xAAz3vpt8hPpf_ipG_5MegsRgCLcB/s1600/20170112_183153.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QkIq2vJIhts/WHn34II--CI/AAAAAAAAEUs/nB92CTQ1xAAz3vpt8hPpf_ipG_5MegsRgCLcB/s320/20170112_183153.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I have been meaning to write a tutorial type articles of the things I have discovered about sculpting miniatures.<br />
I rather not call them tutorials as I am still very much a beginner myself, but rather list things that have worked for me, and what has improved my sculpting, so maybe someone can avoid the mistakes I made.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d4qj8jFljcw/WHn5ZQZd6VI/AAAAAAAAEWY/4WodRfhDuw8oQZSEuTzZXvf5r4Sz_DImQCEw/s1600/20170111_235932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d4qj8jFljcw/WHn5ZQZd6VI/AAAAAAAAEWY/4WodRfhDuw8oQZSEuTzZXvf5r4Sz_DImQCEw/s320/20170111_235932.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The main reason for me to sculpt is to see how stuff develops, I seldom have much idea what the outcome will be, but instead let the putty do the forming. I try to be as much of an observer as possible, it is at least in the early stages IMO the best way, as my skills are not at the level in which I can much control my work.<br />
Also, as it is with when painting miniatures, once you put time and effort in them, they become more personal, and get an emotional attachment to you. With sculpting, I instinctively think of the backstory for the miniature during the process, and let that guide the creation.<br />
Also, once you let your imagination run, you will have something totally unique, something that represents a piece of your mind, and is a 100% match to whatever you created it for.<br />
Lastly, when you are not sculpting for moulding purposes, the details can be a lot crisper, no flashing of cleaning.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LRP8ZT-tdr0/WHn36D6sZ3I/AAAAAAAAEWM/EbSSHPt7QUwVs3nFKm2fjqwccedGE9DLACEw/s1600/20170112_183349.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LRP8ZT-tdr0/WHn36D6sZ3I/AAAAAAAAEWM/EbSSHPt7QUwVs3nFKm2fjqwccedGE9DLACEw/s320/20170112_183349.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
On to the topic of tools.<br />
The norm seems to be this kind of metal instruments sold in packs of 5 or more.<br />
In my opinion there will be only few that are useful, and those only after some customization.<br />
From these 2 tools, I only use 3 ends, and from those really only 1.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUDxJVfdGt0/WHn36dyP_1I/AAAAAAAAEU4/bcMLGvxSe_8v1FT6Hh5lg2glmcm5qkyDwCEw/s1600/20170112_183401.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUDxJVfdGt0/WHn36dyP_1I/AAAAAAAAEU4/bcMLGvxSe_8v1FT6Hh5lg2glmcm5qkyDwCEw/s320/20170112_183401.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Most used end for me is the rightmost one. it is pretty basic rounded shape that can be used to do pretty much everything excluding the last stages of detail. It used to be sharper arrow shaped end and I just filed it to its current form.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kW7fPgFZPR4/WHn33ycdOsI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/vRwFSs92L4UtxchSjwnsGzHvi7zK89fLQCEw/s1600/20170112_183311.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kW7fPgFZPR4/WHn33ycdOsI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/vRwFSs92L4UtxchSjwnsGzHvi7zK89fLQCEw/s320/20170112_183311.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
These are newcomers, they are silicon tipped tools that allow a lot gentler touch than metal tools. They have become really invaluable tools once I have lain the main bulk, and start forming the contours under it.<br />
Slightly more tips that is needed, but I ordered them in bulk.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CSUTaxD3ucY/WHn38MxEu9I/AAAAAAAAEWo/wd8S1c8KbHovC1-s5MNFd2aSS4vP6yJTgCEw/s1600/20170112_183442.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CSUTaxD3ucY/WHn38MxEu9I/AAAAAAAAEWo/wd8S1c8KbHovC1-s5MNFd2aSS4vP6yJTgCEw/s320/20170112_183442.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
One more custom tool, a needle. It sees action at least in some extent in every miniature I have made so far as a needle, or sideways aa a way to smooth hard to reach places.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UtwEw4UxIBw/WHn36bDmc9I/AAAAAAAAEWw/MOEUlxIwYLkZ9QlOOEqcLFl69ozlBbCdQCEw/s1600/20170112_183428.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UtwEw4UxIBw/WHn36bDmc9I/AAAAAAAAEWw/MOEUlxIwYLkZ9QlOOEqcLFl69ozlBbCdQCEw/s320/20170112_183428.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Hobby knives. Left one is for more general sculpting, removing putty, or doing small details, and righ one for making eyes (more of that later)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H1vFoCa0oCE/WHn3888UhAI/AAAAAAAAEWw/jQK0V8wKGBg3jefK_vNar_ngJATqMzohgCEw/s1600/20170112_183451.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-H1vFoCa0oCE/WHn3888UhAI/AAAAAAAAEWw/jQK0V8wKGBg3jefK_vNar_ngJATqMzohgCEw/s320/20170112_183451.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
A way to measure what I am doing. I am constantly doing everything too big unless I measure everything all the time.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KPj_20p1GMQ/WHn38qJkVJI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/2a2kWQNonwQ9vm9J-1SqApBtu4-Coh96ACEw/s1600/20170112_183457.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KPj_20p1GMQ/WHn38qJkVJI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/2a2kWQNonwQ9vm9J-1SqApBtu4-Coh96ACEw/s320/20170112_183457.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Vaseline. During the last stages really invaluable option to help smoothing required areas.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E7E9LLkIk88/WHn398L97XI/AAAAAAAAEWM/drO4kH5k_kYHO1asFfPGNJqDwI1PEc09QCEw/s1600/20170112_183514.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E7E9LLkIk88/WHn398L97XI/AAAAAAAAEWM/drO4kH5k_kYHO1asFfPGNJqDwI1PEc09QCEw/s320/20170112_183514.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Armature holders. I used regular corks, but ordered few "real ones" from <a href="http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/" target="_blank">greenstuffworld</a>, and they are obviously a lot sturdier than ones not intended for this work. Not mandatory obviously, but better.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HGN7NzVb_-8/WHn3_FRn_bI/AAAAAAAAEW4/uIBGC6MzG_oWCd73TyFNJLmEZ-NTw6O3ACEw/s1600/20170112_183715.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HGN7NzVb_-8/WHn3_FRn_bI/AAAAAAAAEW4/uIBGC6MzG_oWCd73TyFNJLmEZ-NTw6O3ACEw/s320/20170112_183715.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Putties.<br />
If there is one thing I can recommend, it is <a href="http://beesputty.com/" target="_blank">BeesPutty</a>, it allows you to spend as much time as you want with the mini (it is oven cured), comes in different firmness, and is really designed for miniature sculpting.<br />
I know that there are many alternatives, and I have not tried all of them, but I can't see myself using anything else than BeesPutty.<br />
..and Greenstuff, you also need Greenstuff.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ey9mqWQEA6k/WHn34FUkDLI/AAAAAAAAEWM/pXhmk4pRiQMxYPrTNUiRWP0f7hwHm2BcACPcB/s1600/20170112_183230.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ey9mqWQEA6k/WHn34FUkDLI/AAAAAAAAEWM/pXhmk4pRiQMxYPrTNUiRWP0f7hwHm2BcACPcB/s320/20170112_183230.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Then to the topic of armature making.<br />
You might want to experiment with these yourself, but I have always come back to this one technique. It is not mine, but I have not been able to find the "inventor's" website anymore, so I can't give credit to where its due, sorry.<br />
The big advantage with this method is, that it will produce a full armature with hands and all, most instructions in Internet have no hands, or require hands to be added with superglue.<br />
<br />
You will need bendy, but not too bendy iron wire, pliers and wire cutters.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mTqGLnD5Otg/WHn3_2HYU1I/AAAAAAAAEXQ/xUxaLrWS6vo-8J24k4DKjDjfvOMYIzvwwCEw/s1600/20170112_183908.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mTqGLnD5Otg/WHn3_2HYU1I/AAAAAAAAEXQ/xUxaLrWS6vo-8J24k4DKjDjfvOMYIzvwwCEw/s320/20170112_183908.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Start off with a 1 long and a 1 short iron wire pieces.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dhEYNaKkX8o/WHn4AfD-yjI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/sJwgtS6C9Sc_gOIA4cka-vWGLbmHfjqIgCPcB/s1600/20170112_183950.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dhEYNaKkX8o/WHn4AfD-yjI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/sJwgtS6C9Sc_gOIA4cka-vWGLbmHfjqIgCPcB/s320/20170112_183950.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Twist the long wire like this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v8fDRj_pLTY/WHn4Btxx-iI/AAAAAAAAEWw/1bKqPzVw304t53VJoHjN2QITg9DxsBREQCPcB/s1600/20170112_183959.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v8fDRj_pLTY/WHn4Btxx-iI/AAAAAAAAEWw/1bKqPzVw304t53VJoHjN2QITg9DxsBREQCPcB/s320/20170112_183959.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Place the short like this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gyBUqgn4TO8/WHn4ChXYrUI/AAAAAAAAEWg/rU2zsgP5e8EjNpG8651xs5ZLe8q3v9TbACPcB/s1600/20170112_184133.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gyBUqgn4TO8/WHn4ChXYrUI/AAAAAAAAEWg/rU2zsgP5e8EjNpG8651xs5ZLe8q3v9TbACPcB/s320/20170112_184133.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
And start twisting the long around the short like this.<br />
Easiest method is to grab the long wire's open and closed loops between both hand's index finger and thumb, and twist away. No pliers required, just keep the loops tight as the shorter wire in the middle is not held in place with anything more than just the longer wire's loops.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xkq_URFbXE4/WHn4CdOgTCI/AAAAAAAAEW4/jRkVTV_s-twDAxPvj8251HQhCVsuVfEqQCPcB/s1600/20170112_184324.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xkq_URFbXE4/WHn4CdOgTCI/AAAAAAAAEW4/jRkVTV_s-twDAxPvj8251HQhCVsuVfEqQCPcB/s320/20170112_184324.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Make loops until your shoulder and hip separation is correct.<br />
As a tip, I was constantly loosing the paper with the human proportions until I taped it to the desk.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7FFCLK6IMAU/WHn4EOxvZNI/AAAAAAAAEXE/SF5ZKa93dqkV049tHQJtpCCM32Rw1TFFgCPcB/s1600/20170112_184348.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7FFCLK6IMAU/WHn4EOxvZNI/AAAAAAAAEXE/SF5ZKa93dqkV049tHQJtpCCM32Rw1TFFgCPcB/s320/20170112_184348.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Cut open the longer loop, and voila´, you have a human armature with outstretched legs and hands. And a long tail.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AuViB-CzZQE/WHn4E7MrjfI/AAAAAAAAEXE/ODmRZCW593QMJqMNtJOeGy0nHYkiYc_8QCPcB/s1600/20170112_184516.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AuViB-CzZQE/WHn4E7MrjfI/AAAAAAAAEXE/ODmRZCW593QMJqMNtJOeGy0nHYkiYc_8QCPcB/s320/20170112_184516.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Snip off the tail (unless you are planning on using it) and bend hips and shoulders to the armature.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dPpu84G3t8A/WHn4FqfwmxI/AAAAAAAAEXE/SqdxyZup9GAAZY7Qaju_xzCmvTJM0eDFgCPcB/s1600/20170112_185445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dPpu84G3t8A/WHn4FqfwmxI/AAAAAAAAEXE/SqdxyZup9GAAZY7Qaju_xzCmvTJM0eDFgCPcB/s320/20170112_185445.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
This is the way I do feet, just another couple of bends in the wire. Here the small pliers com in handy.<br />
Also, leave the wire long enough to sink into the cork base.<br />
Cut the wire's low end sharp as in the picture, to more easily puncture the cork.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B2xTbwnAKQY/WHn4Ij5rsmI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/RKaVQk0LJDsMRhV0LExXSUvCa_0i30o1wCPcB/s1600/20170112_190407.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B2xTbwnAKQY/WHn4Ij5rsmI/AAAAAAAAEWQ/RKaVQk0LJDsMRhV0LExXSUvCa_0i30o1wCPcB/s320/20170112_190407.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Then just start bending the armature to desired pose. Remember to bend the spine to it's natural S -form as it is not straight.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yr0lIp8wVTk/WHn4IA2QwqI/AAAAAAAAEXE/_607mDydtNUtt8q3lN0NJ_06EK32cx0MACPcB/s1600/20170112_185723.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yr0lIp8wVTk/WHn4IA2QwqI/AAAAAAAAEXE/_607mDydtNUtt8q3lN0NJ_06EK32cx0MACPcB/s320/20170112_185723.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
One of the biggest things I struggle with is natural looking poses.<br />
Some points that are said are to put the weight to one leg, bend hips, make the whole pose fluid S-form.<br />
I'm sure that just keeping on it will force the results in the end better.<br />
<br />
So, that was it, I can wholeheartedly recommend sculpting to anyone that has even an ounce of patience.<br />
It is easy to dismiss sculpting as something that "I have no skills in", but for us with no skills it just takes more time. Oven cured putties allow infinite applications, if something does not please your eye, remove it and redo until it does, and them move on to the next place.<br />
<br />
I also suggest you start with non human sculpts, demons or monsters are good as you are not limited to strict proportions and anatomy, but can let your hands do the sculpting and just look what comes out. Lucky break for us chaos players.<br />
<br />
let me know if you have any suggestions or corrections!<br />

</div>
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Kt6JEzZfXi4/WFBTKLVjAAI/AAAAAAAAETU/26Abfz4en-A808qko8hgzsGJMJCKf3OXwCLcB/s1600/20161210_121728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Kt6JEzZfXi4/WFBTKLVjAAI/AAAAAAAAETU/26Abfz4en-A808qko8hgzsGJMJCKf3OXwCLcB/s320/20161210_121728.jpg" width="180" /></a> I Decided to use my powers of sculpting to good as it is Christmas, and made a decoration / present.<br />
The two heads in the background are fridge magnets, but I don't think I have time to paint them before Christmas as I have to go to a work trip :(<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EN8X4MQFYSw/WFBTJ1DI7PI/AAAAAAAAETQ/QMvEPXFK3w4d30XTJg8ybRFxdJnYzcTDgCEw/s1600/20161213_215359.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EN8X4MQFYSw/WFBTJ1DI7PI/AAAAAAAAETQ/QMvEPXFK3w4d30XTJg8ybRFxdJnYzcTDgCEw/s320/20161213_215359.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I got the idea one evening about a Christmas elf that is hanging on his dear life from a rope that is attached to the Christmas tree.<br />
So, from words to action, some beesputty, and a semi decent series to run in the background, and off I was.<br />
The appearance is slightly frightened as it should be if you are overweight dwarf hanging far above the ground from a rope.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r01Jn7LMgDg/WFBTJwx1bgI/AAAAAAAAETM/HQ35oDNrgGYZv06vIBf6y-kzAQ6KyKshQCEw/s1600/20161213_215404.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r01Jn7LMgDg/WFBTJwx1bgI/AAAAAAAAETM/HQ35oDNrgGYZv06vIBf6y-kzAQ6KyKshQCEw/s320/20161213_215404.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The paintjob is simple with a little shading, in this stage the elf is still waiting for the varnish to dry so it is a bit shiny.<br />
He hangs bit crooked, but it kinda looks like he is struggling.<br />
The rope goes through his hands, between his thighs to between his shoes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u2BQsbhkOvI/WFBTLSKTUEI/AAAAAAAAETY/lBWl-kZ91OQBqH4EBuoghouqkLsIoxeOgCEw/s1600/20161213_215411.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-u2BQsbhkOvI/WFBTLSKTUEI/AAAAAAAAETY/lBWl-kZ91OQBqH4EBuoghouqkLsIoxeOgCEw/s320/20161213_215411.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Obviously, if one is sligtly chubby, one might have some flesh showing in situations like this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The rope is just entwined strands of paracord dipped in Agrax Earthshade.Gutrothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01278001913779285969noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556043502247589365.post-44606424079335476102016-11-01T23:19:00.001+02:002016-11-01T23:19:55.351+02:00Happy late halloween<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Our Dungeons & Dragons gang is meeting up again after a break, so we might need few miniatures.<br />

I say might, as I have no clue where our valiant heroes will go, or what they will do, but should they take one path, there might be this guy.<br />
Cloak from beesputty and head+rib cage from skeleton sprue. I first thought of some kind of weapon, but hey, ghosts always carry a chain to make creepy sounds, right?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I did not spend too much time with him, took 6 episodes of Rick and Morty altogether.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jlZM4BCs7j4/WBkFM51qcjI/AAAAAAAAERc/PmE2_Vmkvj0WEMCseNHXoecrFkysjoepwCLcB/s1600/20161101_225853.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jlZM4BCs7j4/WBkFM51qcjI/AAAAAAAAERc/PmE2_Vmkvj0WEMCseNHXoecrFkysjoepwCLcB/s320/20161101_225853.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Oh yea, the chain is a jewelry chain from a hobby store.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6YIeIe53N3U/WBkEuEY_lcI/AAAAAAAAERg/MWiPVI8dEwcOUsvzI47nxNCLE1xnsntsACEw/s1600/20161101_225928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6YIeIe53N3U/WBkEuEY_lcI/AAAAAAAAERg/MWiPVI8dEwcOUsvzI47nxNCLE1xnsntsACEw/s320/20161101_225928.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Also, there might be spiders. They are from a prank shop few years back. I sprinkled static grass on their butts before painting to make them hairy. Bases were the test bases I made with texture rollers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4bx_dLXAuaw/WBkGUNxvpJI/AAAAAAAAERo/KELs3oxp_CYbnXmurmN_aqlstKXdw7aVACLcB/s1600/20161101_225841.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4bx_dLXAuaw/WBkGUNxvpJI/AAAAAAAAERo/KELs3oxp_CYbnXmurmN_aqlstKXdw7aVACLcB/s320/20161101_225841.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0CLPHBSBg8w/WBEDNmBnxbI/AAAAAAAAEPs/tUzi-YpOj0I8JsuqEpu3g5qXXB0DjObmwCLcB/s1600/20161025_000228.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0CLPHBSBg8w/WBEDNmBnxbI/AAAAAAAAEPs/tUzi-YpOj0I8JsuqEpu3g5qXXB0DjObmwCLcB/s320/20161025_000228.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I decided to buy more leaf cutters from greenstuffworld when I realized that they can be used on real leaves. Of course I noticed I had some other stuff that I "needed".<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cENz6c9Lr3w/WBEEKfMXj7I/AAAAAAAAEQI/d4itJRtsh1A6PFJ_QeB22ldybJ1IXyl0wCEw/s1600/20161024_214049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cENz6c9Lr3w/WBEEKfMXj7I/AAAAAAAAEQI/d4itJRtsh1A6PFJ_QeB22ldybJ1IXyl0wCEw/s320/20161024_214049.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I gathered few leaves during an evening walk, trying to get few colour variations to see what the results would be.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-amHTiEc4ArA/WBEDN5DfatI/AAAAAAAAEPw/Mbnl0JZ05ko08OLepKQOHhm24sNeLTYaQCEw/s1600/20161025_000233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-amHTiEc4ArA/WBEDN5DfatI/AAAAAAAAEPw/Mbnl0JZ05ko08OLepKQOHhm24sNeLTYaQCEw/s320/20161025_000233.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I ended up with pretty nice collection. Even if buying ready made miniature leaves is ridiculously expensive, I do realize that I will never use even this amount, let alone my new manufacturing capacity's worth of them :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ShwNHbFxfuI/WBEDPeLiHYI/AAAAAAAAEP0/_BrtsnGWZyUXHx-Fhh8yRAjc5iNpFY1_ACEw/s1600/20161025_000417.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ShwNHbFxfuI/WBEDPeLiHYI/AAAAAAAAEP0/_BrtsnGWZyUXHx-Fhh8yRAjc5iNpFY1_ACEw/s320/20161025_000417.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I also bought 2 more texture rollers.<br />
They are pretty great idea when doing bases, and certainly save time if nothing else.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XukN7QrAHVw/WBEDNcRjXLI/AAAAAAAAEPo/CYOvCWWxyhUEsCe6dfglLF4E282GVVoRQCEw/s1600/20161025_000339_001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XukN7QrAHVw/WBEDNcRjXLI/AAAAAAAAEPo/CYOvCWWxyhUEsCe6dfglLF4E282GVVoRQCEw/s320/20161025_000339_001.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I took some Fimo and made a test batch. In the picture you can also see tubes from my brand new tube making tool.<br />

Here is few test bases. I already did one with the dark runes roller <a href="http://battalionhq.blogspot.fi/2016/06/preparing-for-40k-campaign.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
with some cheap Fimo, the rollers could also be utilized in terrain building probably.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-748OSsSIa9E/WBEDRZMST1I/AAAAAAAAEQQ/aZULGoug8KUY5nck70FJ7I_NEDeiglZqACEw/s1600/20161026_221729.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-748OSsSIa9E/WBEDRZMST1I/AAAAAAAAEQQ/aZULGoug8KUY5nck70FJ7I_NEDeiglZqACEw/s320/20161026_221729.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Some more tubes. Greenstuff seems to be the best material for the tube making tool, at least so far.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l8sSJRQzgTI/WBEDSLddUOI/AAAAAAAAEQQ/tF9C4bZCS4o_cMEvY67Ja7JRfOtvwRvLwCEw/s1600/20161026_221813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l8sSJRQzgTI/WBEDSLddUOI/AAAAAAAAEQQ/tF9C4bZCS4o_cMEvY67Ja7JRfOtvwRvLwCEw/s320/20161026_221813.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Here's my new happy family that I have been painting for therapeutical reasons, the leaves on the base were a test. I think real leaves are a bit too bland, they need more colour saturation. I'll slap in secret weapon washes in future.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qbgekIfOKJ0/V-QeK58VVkI/AAAAAAAAEOY/O4XdRf7McL4JOrKsCZWKPFfIFYeoKDnGgCLcB/s1600/20160922_205129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qbgekIfOKJ0/V-QeK58VVkI/AAAAAAAAEOY/O4XdRf7McL4JOrKsCZWKPFfIFYeoKDnGgCLcB/s320/20160922_205129.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
With the publishing of "Traitor's Hate" -supplement for Chaos Space Marines it became painfully clear that GW hates me. No new toys, no new relics, copied Loyalist psychic powers and few lousy formations.<br />
So, to field something new, I need to turn to Forgeworld and Chaos Rapier battery!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQJXxIVZJgg/V-QeFcbqeVI/AAAAAAAAEN8/K7PoAW_JVx8R4Xp98yAV-QqXSOyL_ZrWQCEw/s1600/20160922_204932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQJXxIVZJgg/V-QeFcbqeVI/AAAAAAAAEN8/K7PoAW_JVx8R4Xp98yAV-QqXSOyL_ZrWQCEw/s320/20160922_204932.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The models are kitbashed Mechanicum units as Forgeworld charges eye and tooth for their models. And obviously cultists are for scale.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_FmE-IX74sg/V-QeF4Ob1xI/AAAAAAAAEOA/Qqffb5_1qOgTpwQVPHeEC0CMY6vQMahtgCEw/s1600/20160922_204951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_FmE-IX74sg/V-QeF4Ob1xI/AAAAAAAAEOA/Qqffb5_1qOgTpwQVPHeEC0CMY6vQMahtgCEw/s320/20160922_204951.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I went a bit overboard with the weathering, but all in all it suits the theme.<br />
I used oxide powder, rust powders and tamiya oil (like) paint.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zlIPSQS8_NE/V-QeHm8UvfI/AAAAAAAAEOI/82l7G87dwJgK58wKWXSMZe_knmBrebeeQCEw/s1600/20160922_205007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zlIPSQS8_NE/V-QeHm8UvfI/AAAAAAAAEOI/82l7G87dwJgK58wKWXSMZe_knmBrebeeQCEw/s320/20160922_205007.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Color scheme is totally different from other CSM units I have, but my Legio Penetratus is not tied to one god, so it doesn't matter anyway.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xiTynHd8FFE/V-QeJCAjUyI/AAAAAAAAEOQ/Wx_vwm8KHwkpidGVDjJcDNxVuTP7eqKkwCEw/s1600/20160922_205025.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xiTynHd8FFE/V-QeJCAjUyI/AAAAAAAAEOQ/Wx_vwm8KHwkpidGVDjJcDNxVuTP7eqKkwCEw/s320/20160922_205025.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Extra props include daemon prince, and rhino.<br />
I really like the white sections after weathering, I think I'll copy that if I ever get around buying Predators.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7D3ohP-tWIs/V-QeJxgB51I/AAAAAAAAEOU/_Y4XW_0_MOUTviKQd1-pUvTyc3vPBKZ1wCEw/s1600/20160922_205053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7D3ohP-tWIs/V-QeJxgB51I/AAAAAAAAEOU/_Y4XW_0_MOUTviKQd1-pUvTyc3vPBKZ1wCEw/s320/20160922_205053.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cxiliOv71JI/V9zEQq_uX9I/AAAAAAAAENY/UD0iHujFu6Yi8-NVO6Z6g59_ZGAzz2WogCLcB/s1600/20160916_214836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cxiliOv71JI/V9zEQq_uX9I/AAAAAAAAENY/UD0iHujFu6Yi8-NVO6Z6g59_ZGAzz2WogCLcB/s320/20160916_214836.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I had a chance to visit a miniature store during my trip to Prague this summer.<br />
Apart the usual GW stuff, they had something special to sell.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a2T3wD2kwGI/V9zEIlkFOuI/AAAAAAAAEM4/RRNTZA-AMcIcFTSLn50ZIJtykVPqTVWZQCEw/s1600/20160916_193749.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a2T3wD2kwGI/V9zEIlkFOuI/AAAAAAAAEM4/RRNTZA-AMcIcFTSLn50ZIJtykVPqTVWZQCEw/s320/20160916_193749.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
So, I was at the register of <a href="http://www.fantasy.cz/" target="_blank">Ogří Doupě</a>, paying for two boxes of chaos hounds. I rolled 20 for perception and noticed these MDF sheets by the counter and asked what they were.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P5OmnhsSQYI/V9zEPDada2I/AAAAAAAAENQ/98OpPe5F3Hwkr3Oug96LoWPj8cq-of29wCEw/s1600/20160916_214554.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-P5OmnhsSQYI/V9zEPDada2I/AAAAAAAAENQ/98OpPe5F3Hwkr3Oug96LoWPj8cq-of29wCEw/s320/20160916_214554.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Apparently the owner makes terrain himself and sells it at the store.<br />
There were caskets, tombstones and fences (if I remember correctly), and I immediately purchased two of both caskets and tombstones.<br />
(<a href="http://www.fantasy.cz/fantasy-cz/eshop/34-1-BRAND-OGRI-DOUPE/607-2-Tereny" target="_blank">They have some more available for mailorder</a> too)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-95gdlT0aKqc/V9zELtBUAtI/AAAAAAAAENE/JMmJx22BbA4XzaKDzrrHP6w75X4f07lmwCEw/s1600/20160916_213951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-95gdlT0aKqc/V9zELtBUAtI/AAAAAAAAENE/JMmJx22BbA4XzaKDzrrHP6w75X4f07lmwCEw/s320/20160916_213951.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The quality is superb, everything fits exactly, and engravings are really exact. So exact in fact, that they probably need a bit care when painting so not to fill them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qJDrfu6nq-A/V9zEPx5EElI/AAAAAAAAENU/zhcUXyiB4CQTZXpdAoWbL6lFKw_IxVIpwCEw/s1600/20160916_214557.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qJDrfu6nq-A/V9zEPx5EElI/AAAAAAAAENU/zhcUXyiB4CQTZXpdAoWbL6lFKw_IxVIpwCEw/s320/20160916_214557.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
There are no instructions which meant for example that this sarcophagus took an hour to build. I actually did not mind as I was in no hurry, and took it more as a puzzle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mkK4zDUSefM/V9zELLLBySI/AAAAAAAAEM8/L0LxPZv69D4Jccjksl7zUkUaOsD2gE1XACEw/s1600/20160916_213935.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mkK4zDUSefM/V9zELLLBySI/AAAAAAAAEM8/L0LxPZv69D4Jccjksl7zUkUaOsD2gE1XACEw/s320/20160916_213935.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The other, even harder puzzle was this. These were left over after all else was assembled. I had zero idea of what to make of them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9gUgb9VWWSU/V9zEOmBYLfI/AAAAAAAAENg/3g_xIj5Nf9YbCmjISJqahS5NrgSRvHYmgCEw/s1600/20160916_214209.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9gUgb9VWWSU/V9zEOmBYLfI/AAAAAAAAENg/3g_xIj5Nf9YbCmjISJqahS5NrgSRvHYmgCEw/s320/20160916_214209.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Finally, after several construction attempts I got it :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5za_zZNst0/V9zHqWAjocI/AAAAAAAAENk/TAKtBya3tI0l5ZwUPeN3sD5XzBrGdMsxwCLcB/s1600/20160917_072053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y5za_zZNst0/V9zHqWAjocI/AAAAAAAAENk/TAKtBya3tI0l5ZwUPeN3sD5XzBrGdMsxwCLcB/s320/20160917_072053.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Coffins. They could be used without painting in a pinch. Cultist for scale.<br />
So, to sum up, these will get ***** out of 5 chaos stars. they were cheap, and quality left nothing to be desired. So stop what you are doing, surf to <a href="http://www.fantasy.cz/" target="_blank">Ogří Doupě</a>, and order some!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J1Hs8F3W430/V9zEIG90b7I/AAAAAAAAENg/rLLy6o8yAtsnPbmM2fYa5DfQxig_w3X9ACEw/s1600/20160916_193801.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J1Hs8F3W430/V9zEIG90b7I/AAAAAAAAENg/rLLy6o8yAtsnPbmM2fYa5DfQxig_w3X9ACEw/s320/20160916_193801.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Herald got ready too. In the end I got bored and took some shortcuts, it is playable though. The bird claws don't really show, but they are there.<br />
Chest tattoo is from chaos decal set.<br />
I really need to take some time at some point and focus on OSL effect. It is probably not hard, but requires some thought to get it to work. It doesn't do that now.<br />
(My 40k opponents can probably spy at the background some upcoming reinforcements to Legio Penetratus' force)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wTF_tTUC9aA/V9zEIL8r6qI/AAAAAAAAENg/kO5kjOEzpYARvmO8rt7X138CpRqGKoAAACEw/s1600/20160916_193813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wTF_tTUC9aA/V9zEIL8r6qI/AAAAAAAAENg/kO5kjOEzpYARvmO8rt7X138CpRqGKoAAACEw/s320/20160916_193813.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I replaced the usual disk of Tzeentch with a slimy medusalike creature.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Next up is a herald of Tzeentch.<br />
I actually did the legs even there would be a nice skirt to cover them up. This was for just practise.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The heads are a tad too big, I hope it will not be too obvious.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oRmXG6WCjx0/V7YICE4fLEI/AAAAAAAAEK4/JnJ6pSLQ6QcW9BPaiiFWXIajicvG-npKQCLcB/s1600/20160818_214340.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oRmXG6WCjx0/V7YICE4fLEI/AAAAAAAAEK4/JnJ6pSLQ6QcW9BPaiiFWXIajicvG-npKQCLcB/s320/20160818_214340.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I like how the hair turned out.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hands will have to wait for a week as I have to go to an work trip. I can use the pause to think what to do with them. I'm thinking of bird claws to keep in the Tzeentch mythos.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gsJqaaDGIOg/V7YIFjL34_I/AAAAAAAAELE/8e2o0BzgcgQXc7bDmKTCNf2H9Y4j8PfhQCLcB/s1600/20160818_214402.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-gsJqaaDGIOg/V7YIFjL34_I/AAAAAAAAELE/8e2o0BzgcgQXc7bDmKTCNf2H9Y4j8PfhQCLcB/s320/20160818_214402.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The disk will be a sort of an amoeba thingie. I got the idea from screamers that are basically demonic manta rays.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wr6RqxL9mO8/V7YIGIVCaXI/AAAAAAAAELI/1hduxAdgZr0QpXHXrL5c-AmeWhjZXHO9QCLcB/s1600/20160818_214415.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wr6RqxL9mO8/V7YIGIVCaXI/AAAAAAAAELI/1hduxAdgZr0QpXHXrL5c-AmeWhjZXHO9QCLcB/s320/20160818_214415.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I have to trim the tentacle ends if they show up from under the top.<br />

Meet demon princess of Nurgle, Myriam the Everpregnant.<br />
I am probably the only owner of female pregnant demon princess of Nurgle with a bloody scythe!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RynNybWfdzI/V6Ncg2avmuI/AAAAAAAAEKI/7o8c9tfprjw4TPfQKxGga5xwDZtlceFhACEw/s1600/20160804_181144.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RynNybWfdzI/V6Ncg2avmuI/AAAAAAAAEKI/7o8c9tfprjw4TPfQKxGga5xwDZtlceFhACEw/s320/20160804_181144.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
I needed another demon prince for a 40k list I'm thinking of running, and I already have 2 GW :s models. Also, the new(ish) bloodthirster costs nearly 100euros, which is not something I like to pay for one redundant miniature.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TEhiJYeegV0/V6NcgghvoFI/AAAAAAAAEKE/d-EfbBClf9gl--kvrka9UtUe0fzEl5zDgCEw/s1600/20160804_181152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TEhiJYeegV0/V6NcgghvoFI/AAAAAAAAEKE/d-EfbBClf9gl--kvrka9UtUe0fzEl5zDgCEw/s320/20160804_181152.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
As I already have <a href="http://battalionhq.blogspot.fi/2014/06/sculpting-chaos-spawn.html" target="_blank">one self sculpted demon</a>, I thought I'd make another.<br />
This time I tried doing female anatomy, and while I was at it, a pregnant anatomy.<br />
The demon I needed should be nurgle aligned, hence the pustules and colour.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j-7g-ppVVI8/V6Nci1megmI/AAAAAAAAEKM/2HnOh8mQVcMce9W5pBdbxMWd4yYVgURQQCEw/s1600/20160804_181158.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j-7g-ppVVI8/V6Nci1megmI/AAAAAAAAEKM/2HnOh8mQVcMce9W5pBdbxMWd4yYVgURQQCEw/s320/20160804_181158.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Like previously, I just started sculpting without any more plans, and just looked what the result will be.<br />
The thing turned out well IMO, and took 3 days.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i6ABK3gG5-I/V6Ncjs1D_zI/AAAAAAAAEKQ/poBNmDUKnecTF6OjXgimiOJRnrv_MxI7wCEw/s1600/20160804_181206.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-i6ABK3gG5-I/V6Ncjs1D_zI/AAAAAAAAEKQ/poBNmDUKnecTF6OjXgimiOJRnrv_MxI7wCEw/s320/20160804_181206.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The weapon I wanted was scythe. It's plasticard.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zRpqCB58cvk/V6NcjtZ07JI/AAAAAAAAEKU/X6RvYSIoT6ok6oQV-f1Gbxft1QSehqWSQCEw/s1600/20160804_181218.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zRpqCB58cvk/V6NcjtZ07JI/AAAAAAAAEKU/X6RvYSIoT6ok6oQV-f1Gbxft1QSehqWSQCEw/s320/20160804_181218.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The eyes became accidentally semi closed which looks cool. With the tongue out, the expression is almost estatic. That suits bloodthirsty demon with a scythe well :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dirYu3-03zg/V6NckSGprQI/AAAAAAAAEKY/7mNS76VonCsw6F1rZHkg7NRcG_MTnEBFwCEw/s1600/20160804_181223.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dirYu3-03zg/V6NckSGprQI/AAAAAAAAEKY/7mNS76VonCsw6F1rZHkg7NRcG_MTnEBFwCEw/s320/20160804_181223.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
After the paintjob I did rust and blood. Nurgleism is not very much apparent besides the colour and pustules, but it is good enough. And free. Did I mention it was free.Gutrothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01278001913779285969noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556043502247589365.post-90783197371374884612016-06-21T01:52:00.002+03:002016-06-21T02:03:41.970+03:00Operation poopypants<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

Loyal to my style, I started painting something that has absolutely no effect on the games. I made a base to my chaos spawn (probably).<br />
The technique is the same as allways, but with some new elements.<br />
First was really long stalked lichen I found 3 years back at Sarek national park. It has been soaked in glycerin, so it retains it's flexibility. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zsSbCQndGoY/V2Zda8CgqsI/AAAAAAAAEIE/OpQ7PRxTNIEM4pe5W0cBmC9ubVJ3FNH1gCKgB/s1600/20160619_114336.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zsSbCQndGoY/V2Zda8CgqsI/AAAAAAAAEIE/OpQ7PRxTNIEM4pe5W0cBmC9ubVJ3FNH1gCKgB/s320/20160619_114336.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
The second are the leaves. I bought a leaf punching device from Greenstuffworld. I then painted a regular paper with random autumn colours and punched the hell out of it. The result is good, and I will get the other version of this in future. So five chaos stars *****!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LBSafC42uSc/V2Zdb7J0sgI/AAAAAAAAEIc/6BJIEJDyfH4MNldXSYbkGoZbs8icR0OSACKgB/s1600/20160619_114345.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LBSafC42uSc/V2Zdb7J0sgI/AAAAAAAAEIc/6BJIEJDyfH4MNldXSYbkGoZbs8icR0OSACKgB/s320/20160619_114345.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
Third new thing was a texture roller, also from greenstuffworld. There are several, but I got the "evil rune" -version.<br />
It is also great, and saves time it you have to texture something. I have to take a look at the other versions, and probably get couple more.<br />
Four stars ****!<br />

</div>
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--NAdscXbRsE/Vv679_BZilI/AAAAAAAAEFM/yBV3rzG1HvUPFmM-gea02FaVednMdIvXw/s1600/20160401_210854.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/--NAdscXbRsE/Vv679_BZilI/AAAAAAAAEFM/yBV3rzG1HvUPFmM-gea02FaVednMdIvXw/s320/20160401_210854.jpg" width="320" /></a> So, there might be a chance for our DnD adventurers to cross paths with a fierce Spectator in the future.<br />
That left me with an option to try to find one online and order it, or sculpt one.<br />
I chose the latter.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-19qmZbW7Mjs/Vv679C358nI/AAAAAAAAEE8/9kINMSqqtYMpQVq9bn6CEY9CkbQtd1WQg/s1600/20160401_210828.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-19qmZbW7Mjs/Vv679C358nI/AAAAAAAAEE8/9kINMSqqtYMpQVq9bn6CEY9CkbQtd1WQg/s320/20160401_210828.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
According to DnD lore, spectators are cousins of beholders, and where beholders are chaotic evil, spectators are neutral, and pack a little less punch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r2UP6M4tCc0/Vv679EHiyRI/AAAAAAAAEFE/R7BY8DfrAZUtk0Wp192JkC4KVRuRJWJfQ/s1600/20160401_210835.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r2UP6M4tCc0/Vv679EHiyRI/AAAAAAAAEFE/R7BY8DfrAZUtk0Wp192JkC4KVRuRJWJfQ/s320/20160401_210835.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
They should be green, but I had this urge to try out paler blues, so I took some liberties :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MvX3voVzZnY/Vv6792alI7I/AAAAAAAAEFI/oeU_U1okjec5VtzRvVRRD4GQOC6OSUdMA/s1600/20160401_210842.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MvX3voVzZnY/Vv6792alI7I/AAAAAAAAEFI/oeU_U1okjec5VtzRvVRRD4GQOC6OSUdMA/s320/20160401_210842.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also opted out from the normal monster sharp fangs, and went with more herbivore type of tooth. They look a bit more human, bringing slightly more disturbing overall look.<br />
The slime is water gel.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q4BaSwJ55gY/Vv68DDJ8EUI/AAAAAAAAEFU/ibjQpXVFqp09zcVvbFA5G-wDY_8jZKO8Q/s1600/20160401_210911.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Q4BaSwJ55gY/Vv68DDJ8EUI/AAAAAAAAEFU/ibjQpXVFqp09zcVvbFA5G-wDY_8jZKO8Q/s320/20160401_210911.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I also needed one bookshelf. It ended up too big, but works in fantasy environment.<br />
I was slightly drunk when gluing the doors, so I had to compensate the crack with a skeletal hand :)<br />
I prollu do hinges from greenstuff before painting, I don't know.Gutrothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01278001913779285969noreply@blogger.com0
