I could not resist the tempation to find a good recipe for painting white, so I took one winter war miniature and painted it yesterday. I'm trying to find a speedy method of painting white as there are lot of it in these guys.
The deepest shadows are Vallejo Blue Grey Pale, midtones Pale Greyblue, and highlights pure white. the colours work with each other well, so they can be used without dilluting them too much which equals faster painting time. I'll probably try warmer colours to shade white too just for the hell of it, but I still think the bluish tint is suitably cold for the purpose.
Also, it's becoming more and more apparent that Baker Company miniatures were probably sculpted in a hurry, they are not nearly as detailed and neat as say, Warlord Games' miniatures. However, the price per figure that kickstarter backers got, justifies the buy still easily. Also, I don't have any urge to spend time with them so they get painted faster.

VastaaPoistaHarmi jos baker company ei ole sculptannut parempia suomalaisia kuin heidän aikaisemmat. Aikaisemmat oli vähän old school näkösiä, Warlordin taas on käsittääkseni sculptannut Paul Hicks.
Joo, veikkaan että tuli kaverilla hiukan kiire noitten kanssa.

Joo,o nämä Bakerin figut on aina tällaisia, jotain hyvää ja sitten lopulta laatu ei riitä nykypäivään, tiedä sitten mikä on? Kaiken kaikkiaan ihan Ok, jos se riittää.
VastaaPoistaItellä ei ole kokemusta yli 3 vuoden takaa, joten ei ole samanlaista perspektiiviä kun teillä, mutta nää on kyllä enemmän fillereitä (poislukien osa poseista).
VastaaPoistaToisaalta Bakerilla on pari asiaa puolellaan. Isoin on, että suomalaisia ei ole ollut ennen warlordia, ja kickstarter hinta. Samalla rahalla ostaisin vieläkin saman satsin, parin kaljan jälkeen tuplana :-)
