First batch of Chindits are ready. With these I tried to find a right colours and fast painting scheme. I really need to keep the pace up as there are lot more coming.

I got my 2 boxes of 30 Vestals of Nemesis from AoW delivered 2 days ago.
Why 2 you might ask? Well, if one preorders half naked toy soldiers while under the influence of alcohol, one might not remember it, and preorder some more few weeks after.. :) Although, with AoW prices compared to GW, it is not that bad. GW witch elves are a joke, not the models, but the pricing.

Farmhouse step 2

I've been mostly painting demons for my chaos space marine army. The house is getting along however every now and then when I feel I need to get a break from painting.

Old farmhouse WIP

So, I decided to give a terrain building a try. I have for a long time thought about making a farmhouse, kind of old style with stone first floor and wooden second. The whole thing would be covered with white plaster with some cracks exposing the structure.

Legends of the High Seas battle Report

I have been meaning to do a battle report, but I always forget to take enough pictures. Well, yesterday finally I had my iPad in hand and voila'.
The report bloated a bit, but what the hell, the game was as awesome as the other games in this LOTHS campaign have been, so it would not be fair not to document every detail of the battle :)

Suuri Snadi expo in Vantaa

During this weekend there is "Suuri Snadi" expo in Vantaa. There are several dollhouse, model railway, model car and miniature vendors selling their stuff.

Painting White

As promised, here is my way to paint colder white.
The paints I use are all from Vallejo:
Shadows: Blue Grey Pale
Midtones: Pale Greyblue
Highlights: Foundation white (any white will do)

Black Scorpion pirates arrive

 My Black Scorpion Crew arrived at port after 2 weeks of feverish waiting.

1st demo base ready

So, here's the first base of the series I mean to make for these guys.

Teemu and Marko organized a pirate campaign in our gaming club, and I have been just waiting for an excuse to buy Black Scorpion pirates.
Teemu Hoowever sold me few of his models to get the painting started before my own crew arrives.

Spartan Scenics buildings pt. 2

 I built and painted 2 of the buildings.
It took a bit longer, as I wanted to figure out a efficient painting scheme as there are maaany more to do.

Demonic allies and chaos cultists

 I had so much to paint for my 40k army that I needed to start painting faster.
In the end I managed to uncharacteristically get stuff ready (well nearly) in good time.
Note, that everything shines, I have not used antishine yet because of the humidity in the air here, it has ruined my sentry gun (few posts back).

Spartan scenics scifi buildings unboxing

I got 2 sets of spartan scenics boxes from battlefield berlin today (gret store btw.).

First thing I noticed was the size. They each weight around 10-15kg, which was a small issue, as I was picking them up with a bicycle :). After my wife drove with car, and got them, I started to go through what I had gotten.

Automated Sentry System (ASS)

Couple of days back I was in a toilet and started looking the cotton buds on a plastic stick one uses to clean one's ears or other small orfices. I started picturing them as a barrels of a gatling cannon, and had to follow up on that by trying to make one.

WIP terminator and tip for your paints

I've been painting a GW chaos terminator lord for few days now. I magnetized the arms and head, so I can swap weapons and make the character either lord or sorcerer.

And finally the base for spawn.

So, a demon needs a base. I scavenged my hellbrute's base and gave it a shot. Some of you might recognize the influence of James Wappel in it. Influence might be a bit of an understatement, as it is pretty much copycat work :)

Finally :)
I painted the skin with dwarf skin, and shaded towards purple. This gave nice inflammed look. Highlights were with elf skin with a dash of green in them to enhance the sickened feeling.

Chaos spawn pt2

After about 4 evenings of sculpting, the spawn is ready for painting.

 After a very long break, mainly due to lack of intrest, I bought 7th edition 40k rulebook and new CSM codex, and thought to dig up my old Chaos space marines.
It now seems that I need daemons for my malefic daemonology spells and various other uses:)

Second Witch Elf filler ready!

Due to general lack of time, this took longer than I anticipated. It's ready now however, and I'm really pleased how it turned out. In the end I thought to repaint the face and swords, but I decided to just move on. The comic came from a story that started to form in my mind while I was making this, so I had to get it out, no matter how gay it sounds :)

As I now got an urge to do unit fillers, here is a progress report of the 2nd WE filler.
This features a mentally broken knight that gets a mercyful release from angel of Khaine. Sculpting is 100% done, now just splash on paint.

So, I have not had any intrest to paint anything until now. I got this idea of witch elf unit filler, where one bride of Khaine has just killed her opponent, and I had really no other option than to just do it, and see how it turns out.

Death Hag ..and long awaited vacation

So, last mini to complete before I'll be off to Philippines is Death Hag.

Ebob skeletons and armatures

I got an packet from ebob I ordered a month ago. I kinda had forgotten all about this, so it was a nice suprise.
I got 5 armature puppets, 15 skeletons and couple of sculpting tools.

Cauldron of Blood guards

 The cauldron is now complete with its two lovely attendants.
They gave me a nice canvas to try out colours for witch elves.
I also tried out NMM gold with varying success.

Malifaux unboxing

I have been interested in Malifaux for a long time, mainly because of the models which look gorgeous and oozing with personality and perverted ideas.
So finally, I went and bought Guild's judgement starter box, small rules manual and fate deck. All in all, to get started with the game takes less than 70 euros! That is really nothing today, even less so when you look at what you get with that money.

Cauldron of Blood

I haven't had any inspiration to paint recently, I've been mostly just coloring the minis while watching netflix.
 I however started thinking of painting the railing of my cauldron of blood in NMM style, so I took it up and ended up painting the whole thing!?

Viking Spearmen

 I managed to paint 4 viking spearmen. They have separate spears I orderred from warlord (I think).

While waiting for an idea of what to sculpt next, I painted a batch of viking archers to boost my upcoming hail Caesar/SAGA army.

..and here he is. I struggled with the face a bit, I had to make it smaller 3 times before it was even close. To get the scale right is really hard with hands and head. I recon I need to have some reference bodyparts for future to be near when doing this.

So, I got a bit disapointed with the Alienist sculpt's propotions, his legs seemed to be a bit too large. So, I had couple of options. To either break them above knee and recreate, or make a totally new sculpt.
I opted for the latter, as with a new sculpt I could fix the pose and few other issues as well.
